Rhymes Revisited

These are images of my work from the project 'Rhymes Revisited', my rhymes/fairy tails were ;Humpty Dumpty',  'Ring Around the Roses' and 'Alice In Wonderland' i used key aspects of the stories and created samples using different media and exploring in composition. 

These are samples from Alice In Wonderland, i used images of watches to represent the white rabbits pocket watch, i used flowers, especially roses to represent the Queen's Rose garden, and i also used playing cards to represent The Queen Of Hearts. 

I used lots of different media such as paints, inks, collage, felting and also stit h work, i decided to use mainly hand stitch throughout the project.  

These are samples  from the section 'Ring Around The Roses' i used images of roses to represent the roses in the rhymes, i also used an image of a rat, this is to show that i have researched the meaning of the rhyme and it is about the plague, and the cause was because of rats. 

These are samples from the 'Humpty Dumpty' section of the project, i used mixed media and built up layers of textures using paper, paint and masking tape. Also the humpty has been made modern.

Textiles

These are samples from my textiles project 'collections'.

I used lots of different images of collections of objects i own or that i have photographed at Museums, i have images of shells, skulls, butterflies, shoes, cups, bottles, watches, flowers, tea cups, tea pots, lipsticks, nail varnish bottles ect..

i used lots of different techniques such as applique, embroidery, felting, devore, silk paints and paints. I wanted to keep this project colourful and i decided to focus on the detail of objects over the form, this was to keep it more interesting. 

Risk Project

This was my 'Risk Project' we were asked to look at all aspects of nature, people and places and buildings. 

I used images of objects i found at the beach, such as shells, rocks and crabs. 

i also have images of buildings and boats, these represent the 'places' part of the project, i have images of flowers and trees.
